Police Reserves

The Forest City Police Department does maintain a unit of reserve police officers. Our reserve program was established in 1970 and has continued to this day. The State of Iowa mandates 80 hours of specialized training in order for someone to become a certified police reserve. Police reserves work along side full time officers during normal duty shifts and, once certified, carry out the same duties as full time officers while on duty. Interested persons must be of good standing in the community and background checks are completed on reserve candidates. For more information you may contact the e-mail links on our web pages.
